We Cater to YOU!

We know that for some people, a visit to the dentist’s office isn’t something to look forward to. Dental procedures can bring out a lot of uncertainty regarding pain and the results. Whether you experience dental anxiety or enjoy going to the dentist it’s our goal to ensure that you’re cared for in a compassionate and kind way. We work hard to make sure you’re needs our understood in order to provide you with the best service we can. During treatment you are encouraged to communicate with us about your comfort level. If at any point you are uncomfortable, we make the necessary adjustments before proceeding. We offer may options for pain-free dentistry, read about them below;

Oral Conscious Sedation

For our patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety, who have a family member or friend who can get them to and from their dental visits, we recommend Oral Conscious Sedation. This requires the use of prescription anti-anxiety medications in the benzodiazepine family. While under oral conscious sedation the patient tends to be very sleepy and unaware. While sedated the patient’s blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels are closely monitored using a pulse oximeter. There is very little risk involved if the appropriate doses are administered and the patient is monitored.

Inhalation Sedation (“Laughing Gas”)

At our urgent care dental center in Kalispell, we have a highly committed and qualified team of sedation dentistry specialists ready to help you become comfortable with certain dental procedures. One of the methods we use is ‘laughing gas’.

Nitrous Oxide (N2O) is combined with Oxygen (O2) at a safe level and inhaled through the nose. Nitrous oxide can reduce pain, produce pleasant feelings, and sometimes create a slight numbing sensation. Patients often begin to feel its effects after breathing the gas for as little as two to five minutes. Some people experience mild lightheadedness. Others get the giggles, giving nitrous oxide its nickname. The effects of the gas only last a short time and wear off quickly once its administration is discontinued. This provides for the patient an increased level of comfort and a decreased level of anxiety. Laughing gas is great for those patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety, and because it has no long term side effects patients can drive to and from their appointment.
